A few years ago I read a long piece about the Gees Bend Quilters. Then recently I found myself location scouting in Camden, AL and realized I was only a few miles away from the Gees Bend Quilters. I decided to go down to Camden AL when I had some time and do a story on them and the area. It became more a story of the Black Belt region which is a fascinating area of the country. I was welcomed with open arms and introduced to a wonderful group of people who showed me a small part of this unique area of Alabama.
